Xiaomi has officially confirmed the specs of its upcoming 17T and 17T Pro smartphones, positioning them as “Leica telephoto masters” that will hit global markets on May 28. The new models aim to offer flagship photography performance at a lower starting price than the current Xiaomi 17.
The base 17T comes with a 6.59‑inch 120‑Hz display, a 6,500‑mAh battery, and a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor. Its camera system is built around a 5‑x optical telephoto lens with Leica Summilux optics, delivering up to 120‑x digital zoom. The phone runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS with HyperAI for on‑device intelligence.
The higher‑end 17T Pro ups the ante with a larger 6.83‑inch 144‑Hz AMOLED panel, a 7,000‑mAh battery, and a faster Dimensity 9500 chipset. It also supports 67‑W wired charging, 50‑W wireless charging, and a 100‑W HyperCharge USB‑C option. The Pro’s camera setup mirrors the 17T’s telephoto prowess, but with slightly higher image‑processing power.
Both phones are available in 12‑GB RAM variants. The 17T starts at €749 with 256 GB of storage, rising to €799 for the 512‑GB model. The 17T Pro begins at €999 with 512 GB and climbs to €1,099 for the 1‑TB version.
Official promo material also reveals preorder bonuses. Buyers of the base 17T will receive a pair of Redmi Headphones Neo at no extra cost, while the 17T Pro comes bundled with the free Xiaomi Smart Band 10 fitness tracker in addition to the headphones. These offers appear to be limited to the preorder period and may vary by region.
The launch lineup includes the familiar blue, pink, and black colors, with a new white variant revealed in early renders. Xiaomi’s marketing suggests the 17T series will compete with other Leica‑branded flagships, offering strong telephoto performance for vloggers and photography enthusiasts who want premium lenses without the premium price tag.
With a release date set for May 28, consumers can expect to preorder the 17T and 17T Pro through Xiaomi’s global online stores and major carriers, with shipping expected to begin shortly after launch.
